Q. Is the school only for Seventh-day Adventists?

A. No. All students that desire a quality Christian education are welcome.

Q. Is Decatur Adventist Junior Academy (DAJA) accredited?

A. Yes. DAJA is accredited by the North American Division of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, AdvancEd and has received the distinct honor of School of Excellence for the last two years.

Q. Is there a dress policy?

A. Yes. Our students wear a distinctive dress uniform. In addition, Physical Education uniforms are required for grades K-8.

Q. Where can I purchase the uniforms?

A. Dress uniforms may be purchased through two different vendors Buckhead Uniform Store or Walco. The P.E. uniform is available through nuvision.

Q. What are the payment options?

A. There are four payment options:

Tuition rates are subject to revision.

Q. How are the lunches provided?

A. Hot lunches are available for purchase Monday - Friday. Students may also bring their own non-microwavable lunch.

Q. Are there any dietary requirements?

A. Yes. Our school follows a vegetarian diet.

Q. What is the student/teacher ratio?

A. The average class ratio is 20 students to 1 teacher.

Q. Is transportation provided to and from school?

A. No. Most of our students commute from all over the Atlanta metro area.

Q. Are all grades located on one campus?

A.Yes all students from Pre-K – 8 are on the same campus

Q. Are your teachers certified?

A. All teachers are required to be certified.

Q. Does the school have before and aftercare?

A. Yes. Aftercare hours are from 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. All aftercare students work on homework from 3:30 until 4:30. At 4:30, structured recreation is provided until 6:00. Aftercare ends at 6:00 sharp on Monday-Thursday. Aftercare closes at 5:00 pm on Fridays.

Q. Does the school encourage parent involvement?

A. Yes. We have a viable and active Home & School Program.

Q. What outside scholastic and recreational activities does the school participate in?

Q. How does this school compare with other schools in regard to tests, and college admissions?

A. We have been in the business of educating children for twenty years with positive results. Many of our students excel on standardized tests and college entrance exams; moreover, a competitive curriculum has produced generations of professionals, artists, technicians, leaders, thinkers and doers. Our students have consistently scored higher on standardize tests than students in the DeKalb and surrounding counties. The school does not promote failure, but believes all students can achieve.

A. Decatur Adventist Junior Academy provides an educational approach designed to develop pride and self-esteem, while preparing young people to live and work in a global society.

Q. Where are you located?

A. We are conveniently located to serve Stone Mountain, Lithonia, Decatur and other cities in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. Located in Stone Mountain, we are easily accessible by public transportation.
